The Bible is full of details that are easy to miss—but what if they’re pointing us to something bigger? In this episode, we talk about motifs and imagery in Scripture and how repeated pictures can help us better understand the Gospel.
We look at vineyards, shepherds, light, darkness, and water, with a special focus on scenes in John 2 and John 4. We also talk about how to study these patterns with humility, avoid over-spiritualizing the text, and slow down enough to actually notice what Scripture is saying.
You might be surprised by how much you notice when you slow down and look a little closer.

What if the skills you already have could become a doorway for the Gospel? In this episode, Spencer Davis and Brody Holloway share how Snowbird’s experience in wilderness training opened unexpected doors to serve communities in a remote region of the Himalayas.
From swift-water rescue training to unexpected partnerships, practical skills created opportunities to build relationships and share Christ in places where traditional missions can be difficult. We also talk about the 10/40 window, indigenous church planting, the cost for local believers, and stories of people encountering Jesus through dreams and visions.
This is a story about thinking creatively, serving people well, and trusting God to open doors for the Gospel.

God is sovereign but what does that mean when life doesn’t make sense? Brody uses Scripture, personal stories, and his own experiences to unpack God’s sovereignty and providence, showing how God works through suffering, uncertainty, and unexpected circumstances.
We look at Joseph, the cross, and the tension between God’s sovereignty and human responsibility. Brody also shares personal stories of tragedy, unexpected detours, prayer, and the chain of events that eventually led to Snowbird.
If you’ve ever wondered what God is doing in the middle of a hard season, this conversation will challenge you to trust His purposes even when you can’t see the whole picture.

What if the comfortable choice is actually keeping you from what God is calling you to do?
In this episode Brody and JB sit down with a longtime friend, Michael Talley to hear how combat deployments, hard leadership decisions, and family priorities shaped his path from the Air Force to pastoral ministry. Michael shares some wild stories from his time in the military and how God eventually led him to leave the Air Force and step into ministry. He later walked away from a stable church position to plant a church in Denver during COVID with a baby on the way and almost no money.
Michael’s story is a powerful reminder that following Jesus often means choosing obedience over comfort and trusting God with the outcome.

What do energy drinks, a skeptical parent, marriage, and grief have in common? They’re all part of one conversation about what a real “SWO reset” looks like.
We sit down with Ginger, a camp nurse, to talk about protecting kids from dehydration, heat exhaustion, and concussions. But the conversation goes deeper when she shares her story of when she came to SWO wondering if the camp was even trustworthy, at one point questioning whether it was a cult. By the end of the week, she watched her daughter’s faith take root and saw God do something she never expected.
From there, we talk about marriage, medicine, grief, and the kind of Biblical transformation that doesn’t end when you leave camp.

In Part 2 of our conversation with Kyle, he continues sharing his journey from Marine infantry deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan to a difficult battle with alcohol, marriage strain, and identity. Brody and Kyle talk honestly about combat, loss, coming home, and what happens when you try to carry everything on your own.
The conversation turns to faith and finding his way back to God through a family health scare, honest friendships, and a renewed life of prayer. Kyle shares how he learned he didn’t have to “get right” before coming to God.
Today, Kyle and his wife, Jennifer, are helping build a church inside a Marine barracks through Manna Church. We talk about military ministry, staying faithful through hard seasons, and watching young Marines come to faith and carry the mission forward.
Part 1: Training Builds. Brotherhood Strengthens. Christ Transforms.
