I love sports. The process of playing or watching people compete within a defined set of rules is so marvelously civilized. Way different than warfare, where life and death are the measures of success.

Sports are based on intellectual agreements that define the physical and behavioral parameters for a competition. I want to examine sports from the perspective of evolution, and look at how the major social adaptations play out in that aspect of our modern civilizations.
