The wellness industry has a vanity problem, and we think it's time we talked about it. Somewhere along the way, taking care of our bodies became less about our health and more about how we look, how others perceive us, and how much validation we receive from the world. Social media has only fueled this obsession with outward appearance, creating a culture of comparison, insecurity, and constantly chasing a version of ourselves that we think will finally be good enough.

And we're not pointing fingers here. We've fallen into this trap ourselves. In this episode, we're having a really honest conversation about our own experiences with vanity in the wellness world and how growing closer to Christ has completely changed our hearts and the reasons behind why we do what we do. There's a huge difference between taking care of our bodies to glorify ourselves and taking care of our bodies to glorify God. Wanting to look good isn't the problem, but when our appearance begins to determine our worth, happiness, and peace, we've lost sight of what really matters.

Taking care of the bodies God has given us is such a beautiful responsibility, but our wellness should never become an idol. Our hope is that this conversation challenges you to look a little deeper at the why behind your wellness and reminds you that your worth was never meant to be found in a mirror, a number on a scale, or the approval of others. It's found in Christ.

It’s my (Kateri) first solo episode! With Isabelle away this week, I’m taking the mic to talk about being a fitness instructor and what happens when something you love becomes something you do for a living.

Fitness has been such a big part of my life, and getting to share that with other people is something I’m so grateful for. But when you’re creating workouts and leading classes all week, your own relationship with fitness can start to look a little different. You can love your job and still have to figure out how to make it work for you, too.

In this episode, I’m sharing more of that side of teaching...the things I didn’t necessarily think about before it became my career and the balance I’m still learning to find. There’s so much I love about this work, especially the people I get to see every week, and I wanted to have an honest conversation about all of it. Whether you’re an instructor, thinking about becoming one, or making a career out of something you love, I hope you find a little of yourself in this conversation.

N°168 — Let’s Talk Relationships: Forgiveness, Resentment & Accountability

It’s easy to point the finger at someone else - to focus on what they did wrong, how they hurt us, or why we’re justified in feeling the way we do. But how often do we stop and ask where we could have been better?

This episode started as a conversation about taking accountability in our relationships and turned into a much bigger conversation about forgiveness, resentment, pride, and what our relationships start to look like when Christ is actually at the center of them. We talk about why “just cut them off” isn’t always the answer, how easy it is to hold onto hurt, and the importance of being humble enough to recognize where we might be wrong too.

Because when Christ is at the center, it changes the way we love people. We learn to forgive instead of resent, apologize instead of always defend ourselves, put our pride aside, and extend the same grace to others that we’ve been given ourselves. None of us are going to get relationships right all the time—but there’s so much growth that can happen when we’re willing to look inward too.

N°167 — What It Really Means to Lose Your Life for Christ

“Whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” — Matthew 16:25

We’ve heard this verse so many times, but lately we’ve been asking ourselves: what does it actually mean to lose your life for Christ?

Because for us, it hasn’t looked like one huge sacrifice. It’s looked like the Lord slowly asking us to let go of the things we want to hold onto—the way we want to live, the things we find our identity in, our comfort, our plans, our pride, and even things we genuinely enjoy.

In this episode, we’re sharing what that has actually looked like in our own lives, the places where obedience has been hard, and what we’re learning about choosing Him even when our flesh wants something else.

And maybe that’s the part of this verse we never fully understood before: every time we thought the Lord was asking us to lose something, He was actually leading us into more.

More freedom. More peace. More of who He created us to be. And most importantly, more of Him.

Confidence has been something we’ve talked about a lot on this podcast, but over the past year, our understanding of what it actually means to be confident has completely changed.

For years, we believed confidence came from keeping promises to yourself. Getting the workout in. Being disciplined. Accomplishing what you said you were going to accomplish. Showing up as the person you said you wanted to be. But what happens when you don’t?

What happens when you miss the workout? When you don’t hit the goal? When you’re not as productive as you think you should be? When you don’t look the way you want to look, achieve what you thought you would, or show up as the “best” version of yourself?

In this episode, we’re talking about where true, unshakable confidence actually comes from - and sharing how our own understanding of confidence has completely shifted as we’ve grown closer to Christ. We talk about the fear that maybe there really is no one out there for you, dating people who seem perfect on paper but never feel quite right, learning to stop trying to figure out where or how you’re going to meet someone, and realizing that a season of waiting may actually be a season of preparation.

This isn’t an episode about how to find a boyfriend. It’s a conversation about becoming the woman God is calling you to be, trusting Him with what you cannot see, and learning to live fully in the season He has you in right now.
