A night that will go down in WWE history forever. Survivor Series 2023 is in the books and after two incredible War Games Matches, Randy Orton returning and of course, CM PUNK returning, we have a lot to discuss in this review!
This week on the Ruthless Discussions Podcast we are doing a retro review of the 2006 WWE Survivor Series event! I attended this show at 7 year old all those years ago, so this event holds a special place in my heart. Headlined by Batista challenging King Booker for the World Heavyweight Title. Plus, the iconic Team DX featuring CM Punk and The Hardy Boyz take on Team Rated RKO! Mr. Kennedy faces The Undertaker in a First Blood Match and so much more!
This week on the Ruthless Discussions Podcast, I run down my personal Top 10 Rivalries of the WWE Ruthless Aggression Era! There are some honorable mentions as well because this era was full of fantastic feuds. Feuds that established main event superstars. Stories that pulled on every emotion. Matches that stand the test of time. From John Cena vs Edge to Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle, 2002 through 2008 featured some of the very best rivalries in WWE history.
Talks have begun in the community speculating whether Bad Bunny will appear at WrestleMania 40. Also, we discuss Logan Paul and Gunther's WrestleMania Matches, Jade Cargill's WWE debut and much more!
The Elimination Chamber match has been known as one of the most dangerous matches ever created. Today, we look back at the very first one. Taking place at the WWE Survivor Series 2002 event, the World Heavyweight Championship was on the line as Triple H defended against Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Chris Jericho, Booker T and Kane!
Quite possibly the most talked about era in WWE SmackDown history comes from a several month stretch in 2002 brought to us the beloved SmackDown Six. Edge, Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero became even greater stars after being paired with each other week in and week out. They all faced off in a Triple Threat Elimination Match at Survivor Series 2002, which even though that show is historic for many reasons, these six men may have stolen the show on that night in New York City. Thanks, Paul Heyman!
Brock Lesnar's first defeat in the WWE came at the hands of Big Show with help of Paul Heyman at Survivor Series 2002, but it almost went very different! There is an old tale that suggest WWE wanted Hulk Hogan to face Brock Lesnar in Madison Square Garden, but unfortunately, Hogan wanted to beat Lesnar. WWE, wanted Hogan to put over Lesnar for the second time in 2002. Hulk Hogan gave WWE the ol' "that doesn't work for me brother"...
The Ruthless Discussions Podcast returns with an in-depth retrospective review of the 2002 WWE Survivor Series event. Taking place from Madison Square Garden in New York City, this Survivor Series is heavily praised for being one of, if not the greatest, in the show's history. Featuring the first ever Elimination Chamber Match, Brock Lesnar suffering his first loss to the Big Show, the infamous SmackDown Six all in one ring at one time, plus so much more. Even 21 years later, this show still holds up as an incredible card from top to bottom.
