Made with the support of UCL’s film society, Nolan made the three minute short Doodlebug in 1997, before he made his first feature Following a year later.

Meanwhile Quay is a short documentary about the stop motion animators the Quay Brothers, which Nolan made in 2015 in-between Interstellar and Dunkirk.
