Normalization is an audio process that raises or lowers a clip to hit a chosen level target, giving you a more consistent starting point for editing. In this episode, Mr. E explains normalization in beginner-friendly language and why it matters for post-production choices: normalization can fix an overall “too quiet” or “too loud” file, but it doesn’t automatically smooth out loud and quiet moments within the performance.
