I spoke with Chris Hoyne of NAR(North American Rescue) about the importance of carrying a basic bleeding control kit and knowing how to use it.

I am always hiking, driving, or in areas where immediate help may not be. If i should ever need to administer first aid, I'd like to have both the tools and the know how to do so. The top cause of preventable death in trauma is bleeding. 20% of people who have died from traumatic injuries could have survived with quick bleeding control.
