Department of Agriculture officials are expected to announce new proposals today at an emergency meeting to prevent the spread of TB.
It comes as levels of the disease on Irish farms have increased significantly in recent years.
There was a 36% increase in the number of herds restricted between 2022 and 2024.
Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon is holding the meeting of key stakeholders at the department, at which a number of Government proposals will be discussed to address the issue.
