Listen Later

Surf's up, wave riders! We're diving into the Northern and Central California coastal conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sonoma and Marin County surfers can expect a solid 3 to 5 foot swell both days with mostly cloudy skies. No thunderstorm threats to disrupt your session, but pack a light jacket for those classic cool coastal mornings. Winds will be cruising from the west around 6 miles per hour today, then shifting southwest and mellowing to about 3 miles per hour tomorrow.

Heading down to San Francisco and San Mateo, the waves are a bit more mellow starting at 1 to 3 feet today but ramping up to 3 to 5 feet by Wednesday. Water's sitting around a brisk 58 to 59 degrees, so wetsuit recommended. Expect mostly cloudy conditions with a slight chance of rain today and a gentle west wind.

Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay crews are looking at similar conditions - 1 to 3 foot waves today expanding to 3 to 5 feet tomorrow. Water temperatures are hovering around 60 degrees. High temperatures will dance between the mid to upper 50s and low 70s across these regions.

Tides are looking active with multiple low and high points throughout the day. Early morning low tides will dip below zero, climbing to moderate highs by midday and evening.

Pro tip: Always check local beach conditions and potential closures before heading out. Stay safe, stay stoked, and enjoy those California waves!
