On April 16, an explosion at Northrop Grumman’s Promontory facility in Box Elder County destroyed a production building used in the manufacture of solid rocket motor propellant. According to the company, all employees working in or near the structure at the time safely evacuated before emergency responders arrived. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
