🎙️ A Weekly Reading from Stable Roots:

Not a Place but a Presence

On building home space, surviving disconnection, and learning how to stay

📝 Show Notes:

“Home space isn’t a structure. It’s an agreement that says, you don’t have to explain why you’re quiet today. It says, there’s soup on the stove. It says, I’ll hold your foot.”

This week, I'm writing about the unremarkable ways we learn to belong to places and to each other. It follows fractured families, phone calls after a hurricane, barn rats returning through wildfire smoke, and friendships appearing through a shared love of experience and questions.

As always, there might be a horse or two doing their work by showing us connection and survival. Some ghosts make an appearance because my writing this week is shaped by trust, and memory, and mud, and the felt-sense of the sound of prayers moving through me in Istanbul.

If this piece speaks to you, consider sharing it with someone who might need it. And if you feel moved to leave a review or a few words on the podcast platform of your choice, it helps more than you might think.
