Some things hold people captive because they’ve been given permission, whether knowingly or unknowingly. That’s why we must ask God for spiritual sight, ears to hear, and discernment to recognize and deal with what’s at work in our lives. The enemy doesn’t leave just because we show up before God—but when we stand in His authority, he has no choice.
