In the premiere episode of Not for Sale, a gripping radio drama from Agent of Communication and Development (A-CODE) in partnership with the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room and supported by UK FCDO, listeners are drawn into a heated confrontation between a long-serving politician and his outspoken Uncle. 

As election season approaches, the community of Umuoma faces a moral crossroad. The Uncle, aka Majie (Short form of Magistrate) disillusioned by years of unfulfilled promises, calls on his people to correct the “mistakes of the past” — rejecting vote selling, voter intimidation, and corruption. His Nephew, Madukanaya nicknamed Honourable, has held power for 16 years yet failed to deliver on vital needs: roads, healthcare, and erosion control. When the Uncle exposes his Nephew’s past vote-buying schemes, the tension boils over. The politician’s attempt to silence him with bribes is met with fierce resistance and a reminder that leadership is a trust, not a trade. 

This episode delivers a powerful message: a vote is not a commodity—it is a citizen’s future. Through authentic dialogue, suspense, and community-driven storytelling, Not for Sale challenges Nigerians to reject political manipulation and demand accountability. 

The episode closes with a stark warning about the legal penalties for vote buying and selling—up to two years in prison or a ₦500,000 fine—and a resounding reminder: “Your future no dey for sale.”
