What would you do if a cancer diagnosis arrived just as you believed life was beginning?
Zulma Beatriz Williams had completed her social work degree when she discovered a breast lump and heard the words that changed her life. Instead of allowing breast cancer to define her, she chose to say, “I had cancer. Cancer didn’t have me.”
In this conversation, Zulma shares her journey from Buenos Aires to the United States, beginning university at 42, completing a master’s degree at 50 and moving to Panama at 60 to live beside the ocean. She explains how her experiences shaped Dragonfly Therapy Services and her work supporting people through trauma, anxiety and depression.
This episode explores breast cancer resilience, starting over later in life, overcoming fear and pursuing dreams at any age. Zulma’s story reminds us that circumstances may influence your path, but they do not have to own your future.
