00:14 I believe it was the toughest moment of Jesus's life. I believe it was absolutely the most difficult moment he ever faced. He was in the garden the night before his crucifixion. And this is what he parade. In Luke 22:42, he says this, Oh, what love our savior has. Oh my goodness what love for you He has. He says this, "Father, if you're willing, remove this cup from me. Yet not my will, but yours be done." You know, scripture is clear from the first chapter of Genesis that Jesus, God, and the Holy spirit has been one United forever. In John chapter one, it says in the beginning was the word. That's Jesus. He was with God. He was God. He was with God from the beginning. And yet Jesus knew as He was praying in the garden, agonizing to the point where sweat came out of his brow, like drops some blood.
01:04 Scripture says that Jesus says, God, please, there's gotta be another way. There's got to be another way. But you know what? It's not my will. For years I've taken on the form of man. It's not my will that matters, but it's your will and your will be done. Because Jesus knew on the next day that he and God are going to be separated for the first time in all of eternity. And then I don't know if you know what it's like to be separated from your dad when you needed him the most. And I probably only know a small fraction, you know, the first time I got cancer and then the second time I got cancer, Oh, would it have been great to have my daddy there? But you know what? When Jesus got on that cross and he became sin, as Isaiah said, that he literally became clothed with your sin and my sin and God's still in his holiness, you know, somehow turned his back, somehow God in his holiness could not look upon the sin that Christ had become. And Jesus cried out, my God, my God, why has thou forsaken me? And you can almost hear him scream in the darkness of that cloud that broke out over his head. Dad, where's my dad? Where's my dad? Where's my dad? And I believe there was the most agonizing thing in the most agonizing day of his life.
02:30 So my question to you is this, what heavy stone did Jesus carry with him throughout his life? And how did his willingness to do his Father's will influence everything Jesus did? And when Jesus is being honest about his feelings, saying, God, if there's any other way to do these, please, when I submit my will to you, not my will but thine be done. Here's the application. If Jesus can do that, if he could do that for you, what do you need to do in submission to him?
