You feel like a burden.
You feel like you’re carrying heavy baggage into your relationship.
You feel like others around you don’t always want to be around you.
Can you relate to any of these limiting beliefs?
Welcome to the 1st episode of “Notes To Self”, a segment of Found Family Podcast. “Notes To Self” are literally notes that I’ve written to myself on the Notes app on my iPhone where I admit my worst fears, talk about my triggers, and word vomit limiting beliefs as well as life-changing revelations on my recovery journey. Get ready to REAL talk, girl. Coz shit’s about to get real.
The truth is, I want my boyfriend and my friends to think that “I have my shit together”. So, one of the Notes that I left myself on March 14th says this: “I see myself as a burden to other people. Anytime that I feel like the luggage I bring into the relationship is too heavy or not something that someone would want to “deal with” I get anxious. I think this is because my mom made me feel like a burden. Example: she’d buy me something and then make me feel like it was something that took away time and energy for her so I’d feel badly about it, even if I didn’t even want the thing to begin with”
Woof. That’s deep.
Why do you feel like you’re a burden?
What deeper issue is rooted under the layer of you feeling this way?
Here are some of the things we’ll soul chat about today:
PS CORRECTION WHEN I GET TO THE PART ABOUT DINOSAURS (you’ll get it when you listen) Paleontology is the study of fossils, while archaeology is the study of human artifacts and remains.
