Watching these kids’ rehearsals drives home how much music context matters to the music experience. You know music comes from people. In this case, I know that they’re kids and that they’re learning. Sometime I only know that it’s some bedroom ambient guy with a computer. Whatever I know informs everything I hear. That’s why this mistake-packed playthrough is so much more compelling than some A.I. regurgitated “perfect” bit of audio.
