In this new series, Connor discusses musical history from the world over. In episode one, we cover the creation of the musical genre Turbofolk. The term started out as a joke, but Turbofolk went on to become a legitimately popular genre of music in 1990s former Yugoslavia, as well as the soundtrack to genocide after its fall. We discuss these details, as well as what happens when a joke is taken a little too far.
