This weeks show is about many things. We discuss the internet sensation Jackie and Shadow and how Jackie took ill and the people of Big Bear came together to rescue Jackie who was unwell. The Fire company of Big Bear stood over Jackie and looked after her until 2 am until the Raptor center could get there to rescue Jackie. She is gravely ill but has a team of great veterinarians looking after her at the Ojai Raptor Center. Consider a donation to Ojai or to Savemooncamp.org. Both organizations are doing great things. Ojai rescuing raptors all over California and savemooncamp.org is trying to raise money to protect the eagle habitat of Shadow, Jackie, Luna and Sandy their two eaglets who will be heading off on their own journey soon. We are hoping that Jackie pulls through this set back of hers and that she is released before her tiny ( not so tiny anymore ) fledglings take off on their own journey. Do your part to ensure no bad chemicals are introduced to the environment via poisons etc that may be used to rid rats etc. You must think about the animals that eat what you may be trying to get rid of. We don’t want to lose these majestic eagles just when they’ve begun to make such a strong comeback.
