November 23: Find justice on Mount Zion.

Psalms 75:4-10:
“I said to the boastful, ‘Do not deal boastfully,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up the horn. Do not lift up your horn on high; do not speak with a stiff neck.’ ” For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another. For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is fully mixed, and He pours it out; surely its dregs shall all the wicked of the earth drain and drink down. But I will declare forever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. “All the horns of the wicked I will also cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”

Psalms 76:1-9:
In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel. In Salem also is His tabernacle, and His dwelling place in Zion. There He broke the arrows of the bow, the shield and sword of battle. Selah
You are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. The stouthearted were plundered; they have sunk into their sleep; and none of the mighty men have found the use of their hands. At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep. You, Yourself, are to be feared; and who may stand in Your presence when once You are angry? You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared and was still, when God arose to judgment, to deliver all the oppressed of the earth. Selah

These two psalms confront this issue: the arrogance that exists in the human being; in many who, haughtily, attacks His people, the people of God.
Psalm 75 shows a verse that catches my attention because the psalmist declared that the person who is haughty and arrogant does not act this way by chance or due to unforeseen events, but that it is God Himself who allows them to be haughty and then give what is due to the prideful (arrogant) and glorify Himself in the humble. In short, this attitude does not surprise or disturb the Lord but He is prepared to deal with kings, rulers or haughty nations to do justice to the righteous, the humble, the one who cries out to God, and to pour out His wrath against the wicked.
That is why here we read about the glass of liquor that is foamy. In this case, the spilled cup is a symbol of God's wrath. This represents when God unleashes calamities and destruction on the world against all those who rise up against God and against His children.
Before studying Psalms, we studied the book of Revelation, and in chapter 16 we read about 7 cups that will be poured out on the earth bringing havoc on the inhabitants. That is why the Bible says that the Lord is great in mercy but slow to anger, because He is patient and waits until His cup of anger is filled and later, when it spills, there is no one to stop it because a long time of patience and tolerance on the part of God with the humanity has already passed. Let us remember that God is a God of love but also of consuming fire.

The next Psalm also makes reference to the wrath of God, but that it comes from His mount. Salem is another name for Jerusalem, and Zion is another name that represents the mount where the temple of God is built.
Salem means king of peace, and Zion is the reference to indicate that the capital city of Israel is the city of David but also the holy city of God. Here we see two functions of authority: Kingship and Priesthood, Government and Sanctification.
Mount Zion and its city is not only the physical city that you and I can get to know by taking a plane to the country of Israel, but the Bible also clearly shows that there is a heavenly city called The New Jerusalem or the heavenly Zion, where all those who believed in the Lord, all the righteous, the martyrs who gave their lives for the Lord, those who were not ashamed of Him are going to be inhabitants of this beautiful city, as it...
