Today is World Book and Copyright Day - a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Each year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the scope of books - a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures.

In South Africa, the situation around literacy and poverty is a serious one, and there is a distinct link between children's lack of reading ability and hunger.

Children facing food insecurity often struggle more with concentration and school attendance and to bridge this gap, Non-Profit Organisation Ladles of Love has united with Coronation to launch a feeding and reading initiative this World Book Day
