NTC 21-09 Heroes | Staff Sgt. Heath & Cpl. Hubler
Hey team,
Brigade Commander Col. Roehrman sits down with Lancer Brigade's own Staff Sgt. Kaipo Heath, assigned to 1st Battalion, 17th Infanty Regiment "Buffaloes", and Cpl. Brian Hubler, assigned to 14th Brigade Engineer Battalion "Rugged", to discuss their roles and achievements at the National Training Center at Ft. Irwin.
Heath responded to an enemy ambush by using his gun teams to establish a base of fire, then he and another soldier maneuvered onto an enemy tank and tossed a simulated grenade inside.
Hubler and his team broke a NTC record by flying Unmanned Aircraft Systems for a total of 274 hours of flight. Through these efforts the brigade was able to locate, identify, and destroy enemy heavy armor using artillery and Apache helicopters.
