U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle testified before the House Oversight Committee on Monday on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Lawmakers criticized what they called Ms. Cheatle’s lack of transparency and called for her resignation. The Secret Service director acknowledged her agency’s failures, but said she plans to stay on.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is headed to Washington to meet with President Biden and Ms. Harris to discuss Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas. He’s also expected to address a joint session of Congress for the fourth time—the first world leader ever to do so.
