President Joe Biden met Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping for the last time as U.S. president on Saturday, with the leaders’ goal of lowering tensions amid fresh conflicts over cyber crime, trade, Taiwan and Russia.

President-elect Donald Trump has selected Chris Wright, a campaign donor and fossil fuel executive, to serve as energy secretary in the second Trump administration. Wright is CEO of Denver-based Liberty Energy. He is a vocal advocate of oil and gas development.
