Giorgio Vasari's "The Lives of the Most Eminent Painters, Sculptors and Architects", published first in 1550 and again in 1568, gets a lot of shade but it is the world's first encyclopaedia of art and it's still a treasure-trove of fact, fiction and fabulous history. 🇮🇹🧑‍🎨🎨📚🐴
