Self-described as “Two passionate writers determined on the betterment of our community.” During this tumultuous news cycle, they are engaging in politics and social justice discourse to give their peers another choice for news.
Los Angeles has once again made history (again)! Black, Brown, and indigenous youth across L.A. have organized for years for youth programs instead of punishment & lockups! Their work paid off this week when the L.A. County Board just approved Item #19. They voted unanimously to invest in a new Development of Youth Department via Youth Justice Workgroup report!
Cakes 4 Casualties founder and baker Kath Ryan has been filling hearts and bellies since 2009. She has been baking thousands of cakes for service people who have been injured, many as they recover from wounds in the hospital. As Kath put it, "There are times in life you're meant to be somewhere, aren't you?"
