Números 14: ¿Qué clase de espíritu tienes?
Números 14:19-25:
19 Perdona, pues, la iniquidad de este pueblo según la grandeza de tu misericordia, como lo has perdonado desde Egipto hasta aquí.
20 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo: —Yo lo he perdonado, conforme a tu palabra. 21 Sin embargo, vivo yo, y la gloria del SEÑOR llena toda la tierra, 22 que de los que vieron mi gloria y las señales que hice en Egipto y en el desierto, y que me han puesto a prueba ya diez veces y no han escuchado mi voz, 23 ninguno verá la tierra que prometí con juramento a sus padres. Ninguno de los que me han menospreciado la verá. 24 Pero a mi siervo Caleb, por cuanto ha demostrado un espíritu diferente y me ha seguido con integridad, yo lo introduciré en la tierra a la que él fue, y su descendencia la tendrá en posesión. 25 Ahora bien, puesto que los amalequitas y los cananeos habitan en el valle, vuelvan mañana y marchen al desierto, rumbo al mar Rojo.

39 Moisés dijo estas cosas a todos los hijos de Israel, y el pueblo se afligió mucho. 40 Después se levantaron muy de mañana para subir a la cumbre del monte, diciendo: —Henos aquí, vamos a subir al lugar del cual ha hablado el SEÑOR, porque hemos pecado.
41 Pero Moisés dijo: —¿Por qué traspasan el mandato del SEÑOR? Esto no les saldrá bien. 42 No suban, porque el SEÑOR no está entre ustedes. No sean derrotados delante de sus enemigos. 43 Pues los amalequitas y los cananeos están allí ante ustedes, y caerán a espada. Porque han dejado de seguir al SEÑOR, por eso el SEÑOR no estará con ustedes.
44 Sin embargo, se atrevieron a subir a la cumbre del monte, aunque ni el arca del pacto del SEÑOR ni Moisés se movieron de en medio del campamento. 45 Entonces descendieron los amalequitas y los cananeos que habitaban en aquella región montañosa, y los hirieron y los destrozaron hasta llegar a Horma.

Es muy duro y triste leer este capítulo: Israel se apartó totalmente de los planes y el propósito de Dios, se dejaron llevar por la murmuración a causa del reporte distorsionado de 10 personas.
El pueblo estaba tan desorientado que hasta estaban hablando de apedrear a Moisés; frustrados porque en esa tierra había gigantes y, según ellos, no podían vencerlos.
Volvieron a anhelar volver a Egipto y nunca haber salido de allí. Esto demuestra que ellos estaban en un lugar de conformismo y no de valentía. Preferían quedarse de esclavos que a luchar por una tierra que Dios les había prometido. Tenían un espíritu de esclavitud, de cobardía, de pesimismo y de rebeldía.
En cambio, la Biblia nos muestra que Dios se agradó del espíritu y el corazón de Caleb. Caleb tenía en firme su confianza en el Señor; él sabía que si Dios les había prometido esta tierra significaba que Dios se las iba a dar en sus manos.
La palabra "espíritu" en la Biblia tiene por lo menos tres significados: Uno, es el aliento de vida, el soplo de vida que Dios pone en el cuerpo del ser humano. Este vuelve a Dios cuando muere en la tierra.
El otro significado es cuando uno abre las puertas del corazón a espíritus de las tinieblas que atormentan y dominan al ser humano que no tiene a Dios y por eso los demonios los atormentan o los poseen. También están los seres celestiales como ángeles al servicio de Dios, y principalmente el Espíritu Santo de Dios para que tome el control de nuestras vidas cuando entregamos nuestras vidas a Él.
Y está el significado de espíritu que indica de la actitud que desarrollamos: optimismo o pesimismo; fe y esperanza o derrota y miseria; ánimo o desánimo; nobleza u orgullo; altivez o mansedumbre; perdón o resentimiento; paz o disensiones; gozo o enojo.
Cuando la Biblia menciona el espíritu de Caleb, está hablando de la actitud y carácter que él había desarrollado en su alma. Él aprendió a moverse bajo la voluntad de Dios, a confiar en sus promesas, a luchar con la certeza que Dios peleaba por ellos.
Pregúntate hoy: ¿Qué espíritu tengo yo en mi corazón? ¿Qué espíritu estoy transmitiendo en mi casa?
El espíritu de incredulidad y rebeldía alejó al pueblo de la voluntad de Dios y los impulsó a arriesgar sus vidas peleando cuando Dios ya no estaba con ellos porque ellos se habían apartado de Dios. No valoraron lo que tenían. No creyeron que la nube que los sacó de la esclavitud los podía introducir a la tierra prometida. Cuando estaban sin la gracia de Dios, trataron de conquistar la tierra con sus propias fuerzas, pero ya era demasiado tarde.
Así que, evaluemos qué clase de espíritu tenemos.

Numbers 14:19-25:
Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.” Then the Lord said: “I have pardoned, according to your word; but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord— because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice, they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it. But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it. Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valley; tomorrow turn and move out into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.” And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me. Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you: The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.

And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Here we are, and we will go up to the place which the Lord has promised, for we have sinned!” And Moses said, “Now why do you transgress the command of the Lord? For this will not succeed. Do not go up, lest you be defeated by your enemies, for the Lord is not among you. For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword; because you have turned away from the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop. Nevertheless, neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed from the camp. Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who dwelt in that mountain came down and attacked them, and drove them back as far as Hormah.

It is very hard and sad to read this chapter: Israel totally departed from God's plans and purpose, they were carried away by murmuring because of the distorted report of 10 people.
The people were so disoriented that they were even talking about stoning Moses; frustrated because in that land there were giants and, according to them, they could not defeat them.
They longed again to return to Egypt and never to have left there. This shows that they were in a place of conformity and not of courage. They preferred to remain slaves than to fight for a land that God had promised them. They had a spirit of slavery, cowardice, pessimism and rebellion.
Instead, the Bible shows us that God was pleased with Caleb's spirit and heart. Caleb had his trust firm in the Lord; he knew that if God had promised them this land, it meant that God was going to give it into their hands. The word "spirit" in the Bible has at least three meanings: One is the breath of life, the breath of life that God puts into the body of the human being. It returns to God when he dies on earth.
The other meaning is when one opens the doors of the heart to spirits of darkness that torment and dominate the human being who does not have God and that is why the demons torment or possess them. There are also heavenly beings like angels at the service of God, and mainly the Holy Spirit of God to take control of our lives when we give our lives to Him.
And there is the meaning of spirit that indicates the attitude we develop: optimism or pessimism; faith and hope or defeat and misery; encouragement or discouragement; nobility or pride; haughtiness or meekness; forgiveness or resentment; peace or dissension; joy or anger.
When the Bible mentions Caleb's spirit, it is speaking of the attitude and character that he had developed in his soul. He learned to move under the will of God, to trust in His promises, to fight with the certainty that God was fighting for them.
Ask yourself today: What spirit do I have in my heart? What spirit am I transmitting in my house?
The spirit of unbelief and rebellion alienated the people from the will of God and prompted them to risk their lives fighting when God was no longer with them because they had turned away from God. They did not value what they had. They did not believe that the cloud that brought them out of slavery could introduce them to the promised land. When they were without the grace of God, they tried to conquer the land with their own forces, but it was already too late. So let's evaluate what kind of spirit we have.

And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Here we are, and we will go up to the place which the Lord has promised, for we have sinned!” And Moses said, “Now why do you transgress the command of the Lord? For this will not succeed. Do not go up, lest you be defeated by your enemies, for the Lord is not among you. For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword; because you have turned away from the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop. Nevertheless, neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed from the camp. Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who dwelt in that mountain came down and attacked them, and drove them back as far as Hormah.

It is very hard and sad to read this chapter: Israel totally departed from God's plans and purpose, they were carried away by murmuring because of the distorted report of 10 people.
The people were so disoriented that they were even talking about stoning Moses; frustrated because in that land there were giants and, according to them, they could not defeat them.
They longed again to return to Egypt and never to have left there. This shows that they were in a place of conformity and not of courage. They preferred to remain slaves than to fight for a land that God had promised them. They had a spirit of slavery, cowardice, pessimism and rebellion.
Instead, the Bible shows us that God was pleased with Caleb's spirit and heart. Caleb had his trust firm in the Lord; he knew that if God had promised them this land, it meant that God was going to give it into their hands. The word "spirit" in the Bible has at least three meanings: One is the breath of life, the breath of life that God puts into the body of the human being. It returns to God when he dies on earth.
The other meaning is when one opens the doors of the heart to spirits of darkness that torment and dominate the human being who does not have God and that is why the demons torment or possess them. There are also heavenly beings like angels at the service of God, and mainly the Holy Spirit of God to take control of our lives when we give our lives to Him.
And there is the meaning of spirit that indicates the attitude we develop: optimism or pessimism; faith and hope or defeat and misery; encouragement or discouragement; nobility or pride; haughtiness or meekness; forgiveness or resentment; peace or dissension; joy or anger.
When the Bible mentions Caleb's spirit, it is speaking of the attitude and character that he had developed in his soul. He learned to move under the will of God, to trust in His promises, to fight with the certainty that God was fighting for them.
Ask yourself today: What spirit do I have in my heart? What spirit am I transmitting in my house?
The spirit of unbelief and rebellion alienated the people from the will of God and prompted them to risk their lives fighting when God was no longer with them because they had turned away from God. They did not value what they had. They did not believe that the cloud that brought them out of slavery could introduce them to the promised land. When they were without the grace of God, they tried to conquer the land with their own forces, but it was already too late. So let's evaluate what kind of spirit we have.

Números 14: ¿Qué clase de espíritu tienes?
Números 14:19-25:
19 Perdona, pues, la iniquidad de este pueblo según la grandeza de tu misericordia, como lo has perdonado desde Egipto hasta aquí.
20 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo: —Yo lo he perdonado, conforme a tu palabra. 21 Sin embargo, vivo yo, y la gloria del SEÑOR llena toda la tierra, 22 que de los que vieron mi gloria y las señales que hice en Egipto y en el desierto, y que me han puesto a prueba ya diez veces y no han escuchado mi voz, 23 ninguno verá la tierra que prometí con juramento a sus padres. Ninguno de los que me han menospreciado la verá. 24 Pero a mi siervo Caleb, por cuanto ha demostrado un espíritu diferente y me ha seguido con integridad, yo lo introduciré en la tierra a la que él fue, y su descendencia la tendrá en posesión. 25 Ahora bien, puesto que los amalequitas y los cananeos habitan en el valle, vuelvan mañana y marchen al desierto, rumbo al mar Rojo.

39 Moisés dijo estas cosas a todos los hijos de Israel, y el pueblo se afligió mucho. 40 Después se levantaron muy de mañana para subir a la cumbre del monte, diciendo: —Henos aquí, vamos a subir al lugar del cual ha hablado el SEÑOR, porque hemos pecado.
41 Pero Moisés dijo: —¿Por qué traspasan el mandato del SEÑOR? Esto no les saldrá bien. 42 No suban, porque el SEÑOR no está entre ustedes. No sean derrotados delante de sus enemigos. 43 Pues los amalequitas y los cananeos están allí ante ustedes, y caerán a espada. Porque han dejado de seguir al SEÑOR, por eso el SEÑOR no estará con ustedes.
44 Sin embargo, se atrevieron a subir a la cumbre del monte, aunque ni el arca del pacto del SEÑOR ni Moisés se movieron de en medio del campamento. 45 Entonces descendieron los amalequitas y los cananeos que habitaban en aquella región montañosa, y los hirieron y los destrozaron hasta llegar a Horma.

Es muy duro y triste leer este capítulo: Israel se apartó totalmente de los planes y el propósito de Dios, se dejaron llevar por la murmuración a causa del reporte distorsionado de 10 personas.
El pueblo estaba tan desorientado que hasta estaban hablando de apedrear a Moisés; frustrados porque en esa tierra había gigantes y, según ellos, no podían vencerlos.
Volvieron a anhelar volver a Egipto y nunca haber salido de allí. Esto demuestra que ellos estaban en un lugar de conformismo y no de valentía. Preferían quedarse de esclavos que a luchar por una tierra que Dios les había prometido. Tenían un espíritu de esclavitud, de cobardía, de pesimismo y de rebeldía.
En cambio, la Biblia nos muestra que Dios se agradó del espíritu y el corazón de Caleb. Caleb tenía en firme su confianza en el Señor; él sabía que si Dios les había prometido esta tierra significaba que Dios se las iba a dar en sus manos.
La palabra "espíritu" en la Biblia tiene por lo menos tres significados: Uno, es el aliento de vida, el soplo de vida que Dios pone en el cuerpo del ser humano. Este vuelve a Dios cuando muere en la tierra.
El otro significado es cuando uno abre las puertas del corazón a espíritus de las tinieblas que atormentan y dominan al ser humano que no tiene a Dios y por eso los demonios los atormentan o los poseen. También están los seres celestiales como ángeles al servicio de Dios, y principalmente el Espíritu Santo de Dios para que tome el control de nuestras vidas cuando entregamos nuestras vidas a Él.
Y está el significado de espíritu que indica de la actitud que desarrollamos: optimismo o pesimismo; fe y esperanza o derrota y miseria; ánimo o desánimo; nobleza u orgullo; altivez o mansedumbre; perdón o resentimiento; paz o disensiones; gozo o enojo.
Cuando la Biblia menciona el espíritu de Caleb, está hablando de la actitud y carácter que él había desarrollado en su alma. Él aprendió a moverse bajo la voluntad de Dios, a confiar en sus promesas, a luchar con la certeza que Dios peleaba por ellos.
Pregúntate hoy: ¿Qué espíritu tengo yo en mi corazón? ¿Qué espíritu estoy transmitiendo en mi casa?
El espíritu de incredulidad y rebeldía alejó al pueblo de la voluntad de Dios y los impulsó a arriesgar sus vidas peleando cuando Dios ya no estaba con ellos porque ellos se habían apartado de Dios. No valoraron lo que tenían. No creyeron que la nube que los sacó de la esclavitud los podía introducir a la tierra prometida. Cuando estaban sin la gracia de Dios, trataron de conquistar la tierra con sus propias fuerzas, pero ya era demasiado tarde.
Así que, evaluemos qué clase de espíritu tenemos.

I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me. Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you: The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.
