This nurse philanthropy panel discussion looks at nurses giving back to their communities and the world. Nurses don’t just serve in the healthcare workplace, but in many cases are active volunteers in their communities. This panel discussion on nurse philanthropy features Dr. Rebecca Schnall, Ph.D., MPH, RN-BC, who uses her interests in public health and nursing informatics to research ways to improve patient care. Schnall is an assistant professor of nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing in New York, N.Y.

Also on the panel is Dr. Carmen Kynard, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, NP-C, MBA, MEd, who is the vice president of nursing at Strategic Behavioral Health in Memphis, Tenn. Dr. Kynard has been a volunteer with the American Red Cross for 15 years and currently serves as the National Chairperson of Nursing for the American Red Cross. This year, she received the Red Cross Florence Nightingale Medal for her work in in the areas of public health and nursing education. Check out this panel discussion.
