The randomness continues as we discuss the origins of the Olympics.
The Olympics are a multi-sport event that originated in ancient Greece. The games were held in honour of Zeus, the king of the gods in Greek mythology, and were staged every four years at the sanctuary of Zeus in Olympia, a city in the western Peloponnese region of Greece. The ancient Olympic Games were held from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. The games were a religious festival that featured a series of athletic competitions, such as foot races, long jump, shot put, and chariot races. The ancient Olympic Games were also a celebration of Greek culture and a way for city-states to showcase their wealth and power. In 393 AD, the Roman Emperor Theodosius I banned the games, citing their pagan origins. The modern Olympic Games were inspired by the ancient games and were first held in Athens, Greece in 1896.
Well that's how we try to interpret it anyway 😂
