Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with NYC-Based Jazz Saxophonist and Composer Roxy Coss .. Born in Seattle, she now calls New York City her home .. She is gearing up to release her second full album in 2016 called Restless Idealism and she had plenty of insight into a career that has treated her well .. She went to William Paterson University and studied saxophone with Rich Perry and Gary Smulyan – two contrasting styles .. she described in full detail .. and has performed with jazz giants like Clark Terry, Louis Hayes & Jeremy Pelt .. Along with the performing, she is a composer – she collaborated with her mother, Seattle artist Mary Coss, to create the 7-minute soundtrack entitled Eternal for an exhibit .. She stays very busy and we had a lot to talk about ..
