The workshop brings together 7 NYPD officers and 7 civilians to create empathy and a better understanding for each other’s lives and perspectives. The project was created by the Executive Director Terry Greiss in the hopes to bridge the racial schism between NYPD officers and civilians that occurred after the Eric Garner video through acting exercises in listening. Tom participates in workshop exercises and conversations with two people who come from very different points of view on the same issue. It’s an eye-opening episode with intense moments that motivates everyone involved to walk in another’s shoes.

He and Karen Solomon joined forces to work on this often-ignored issue within policing.
