O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant?
Faithful: steadfast in affection or allegiance. Firm in adherence to promises or in observance of duty
Triumphant: victorious, conquering; rejoicing or celebrating victory
Joyful: to have the source or cause of delight or bliss
WHO DOES JESUS INVITE, REALLY?
Matthew 11:28-29: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
1: Jesus invites the weary and the burdened
John 7:37b-38: “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me as Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” (NIV 1985)
2: Jesus invites the thirsty
Matthew 9:12b: “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ v For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
3: Jesus invites sinners
…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have
passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2Corinthians 5:17
WHAT DO WE BECOME?
1: In Jesus we become faithful
…being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will
carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
“…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, FAITHFULNESS, 23 gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22b-23a

2: In Jesus we become joyful
Galatians 522b: “…the fruit of the spirit is love, JOY…”
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause GREAT JOY for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:10-11
3. In Jesus we become triumphant
“…thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
