In Revelation 5, a search takes place throughout heaven and earth for someone worthy to open a sealed scroll representing the title deed to creation. No one is found worthy, causing John to weep bitterly. This search reveals humanity's desperate need for redemption after Adam lost dominion over earth to Satan through disobedience. Jesus Christ alone qualifies as worthy because He meets the requirements of a kinsman redeemer - having both the right relationship through His incarnation and the right resources as God. Through His virgin birth, He avoided inheriting Adam's sinful nature while becoming fully human. Only His precious blood can purchase our redemption from spiritual bondage.
