We are coming to you live this morning from the Gauteng Provincial Disaster management centre in Midrand where government is hosting the International Day for Disaster Reduction. This day which is observed on the second Wednesday of October was declared by the General Assembly to be marked annually during the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction, 1990-1999.
