I was for going into Iraq to get rid of corruption and giving a chance for freedom and democracy. The War in Iraq did result in relative peace and a stable democratic Republic.

The United States typically station US forces behind in many countries of the world indefinitely in order to maintain peace and keep threats like the Russians, Chinese and North Koreans and Islamic Terrorists in check. George Bush planned to do this in Iraq but President Obama pulled out all US forces from Iraq, taking away our ability to keep Islamic Terror groups in check.

Now what? :

1. We could dip our toe in the water and do air strikes and weapons / $ assistance to Iraq forces

2. We could invade wipe out IS forces quickly and reform the Iraq police force

3. We could do nothing and hope they don’t use their oil $ and base of operations to plan / launch an attack
