Here, in Exodus 5, God is on the move. The initial announcement of His purposes is made to Pharaoh. And then all hell breaks loose. The question this chapter poses is, "Can you stand the disappointment? When God sets out to move in your life, in your church's life, in your community's life, and things immediately go downhill from there, how will you respond?" Because be in no doubt. When God begins to deliver, things are often going to get worse. Immediately. What are you going to do when that happens? You are going to take it back to God, because He's the only one who can actually help. So be forewarned: When you seriously try to obey God, things are likely going to get worse. That's okay; when it happens, take it to the Lord and commit it to Him.
