Today we are stepping into the story of David, a man after God's own heart. His rise wasn't about position--it was about posture. His discernment, his willingness to listen to the nudges of the Holy Spirit, and His restraint in moments of pleasure are what set him apart. In 1 Samuel 24, we see David hiding in a cave while Saul hunts him down. David has every chance to kill his enemy--but he chooses obedience over opportunity.
