Message Notes: Direction “Obeying The Stop Signs”     

“I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you."  Psalm 32:8 (NLT)  

“This is not good!” Moses’ father-in-law exclaimed. “You’re going to wear yourself out—and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself.  Exodus 18:17-18 (NLT)  

1.  God gives stop signs for my PROTECTION.  

I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.  Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG)

2.  God gives stop signs to prepare me for the NEXT TURN.  

Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD.  Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.  Psalms 5:3 (NLT)   

3.  God gives stop signs to REST in Him.  

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.”  Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)
