There's an epidemic in the spiritual community where spiritualists put themselves on pedestals because they are seen as gifted. They don't necessarily view themselves as gifted until someone has convinced them that they are accurate. Recently the term God's favorite has been coined. It is a dangerous game because people start to pay out of pocket to be healed, or told something that they already know. It's the same as when someone thinks that prayer through someone else who God favors will make an illness go away. This happens alot in the rootworking community where we say someone is a annointed or can lay hands. This is dangerous because people will often ignore logic and skip going to the doctor or a professional. If they are anointed so are you, if you believe in that type of thing. If they are talented you can be too with enough practice. I remember listening to a spiritualist describe this phenomenon. “Be careful ,” she said “people are just out for your money.”
