Our final multipart story of the Farscape regular series jumps into high gear with Season 4, episode 20, We're So Screwed, Part 2: Hot to Katratzi. This one has tons of plot twists, character twists and a nice gun battle at the end. And we have a surprise guest star -- Stark. And he's quite happy to help torture Scorpius for the Scarrans. Crichton crashes the Scarran/Peacekeeper "peace" conference and offers wormhole tech to the highest bidder. Let the scheming and backstabbing commence!

January 25, 2026 Occasional Randomness #48 - The One Where Rygel Becomes Patient Zero (Farscape S4E19)
It's our final multipart story of the Farscape series (not counting the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series). Season 4, episode 19, We're So Screwed, Part 1: Fetal Attraction. And as always, Farscape delivers a great start to their multiparter. One filled with action, humor, crew drama and surprise plot twists galore! And a reunion between John Crichton and a new and improved "old friend"... 2.0. Surprisingly their plans go pretty well this time around, with a few impromptu changes which cost a few lives of those around them, much to Noranti's dismay. They do rescue Aeryn but Scorpius is captured by the Scarrans. Oh well, they don't need him, they can just leave and not try to rescue Scorpy... or can they?

January 01, 2026 Occasional Randomness #47 - Frell You Jobu, I Do It Myself (Farscape S4E18)
We pick up right where the last episode of Farscape ended, with season 4, episode 18, Prayer. Where we learn all about what Aeryn's been going through since she was captured; and John and Scorpius go for a ride... back to that "Bizarro" Moya mashup from several episodes ago. Usually Jason and Eric are on the same page with episodes, but this time Jason liked it more. Eric didn't connect with the majority of the supporting characters and didn't think most of the plotlines worked for him. Although they did both think Aeryn's crisis of faith reminded them of Pedro Cerrano from the movie Major League. But even when Farscape has an "average" episode, there are still some good things to take away from it and good things to look forward to as the final season wraps up.

And in between parts of the show, Crichton tries to remember where he heard about the secret Scarran base, Katratzi, where Aeryn is being held. And he makes a startling offer to our old buddy Scorpius.

This time around we do a girls' trip episode of Farscape, with season 4, episode 16, Bringing Home the Beacon. And unlike the boy's trip last time, this is all just shopping, spa treatments and no other drama whatsoever. Who are we kidding, this is Farscape, so of course there's drama! The girls run into both Grayza and Scarrans while trying to get some equipment for Moya and have to deal with them while waiting for their purchase. But they aren't there for our crew, they're here to secretly negotiate a peace treaty. I'm sure nothing will go wrong with that and no one from our crew will be caught or anything...

The boys get some good bonding time away from Moya and the girls by going to mental arts training camp. Oh, who are we kidding, this is Farscape we're talking about. While at "camp", Rygel almost gets brain damage, John gets stuck in a cage that's slowly heating up and D'Argo comes face to face with his wife's murderer, her brother Macton. Macton is going to prove to D'Argo that it was D'Argo who killed her in a fit of hyper-rage, not him. Let the mind games begin!

We get closer and closer to the end of the final Farscape season with a review of season 4, episode 14, Twice Shy. The crew is back in Tormented Space after the last couple of episodes on Earth. They pick up some star charts from some traders but also pick up what appears to be a woman used by the traders as a slave. And, as you have come to know Farscape by now, things never go well when the crew picks up strangers. Their new passenger is not what she seems and they have to deal with her before she kills them all. Plus we learn more about both Scorpius' and John's hidden agendas towards each other and what that means for John and Aeryn's relationship.

We finish our latest trilogy of Farscape episdoes with season 4, episode 13, Terra Firma. Earth finally finds out we're not alone in the universe. John Crichton and his father, Jack, argue over whether to share all the alien technology and information with the rest of the Earth or not. John is slow rolling how much the Earth military and scientists get to figure out. Even from his childhood friend and fellow Farscape Project member, DK. Aeryn meets the rest of John's family but is torn over staying for Christmas or leaving over her feelings for John. And John starts to come around and acknowledge those feelings... before being attacked by the Skreeth that Grayza hid aboard Moya last episode. All this plus the girls go on a shopping spree! Merry frelling Christmas!

We finally get back to our journey through Farscape now that there's a lull in the new Marvel and Star Wars shows. We pick up with season 4, episode 12 - Kansas. We last left with a cliffhanger of Crichton floating in space above Earth, with only the hard way to get down. Spoiler, he does with a little help from his friends. Then he has to do his own version of Quantum Leap and Back to the Future to prevent his dad from joining the ill-fated Space Shuttle Challenger mission or else the future will be forever changed. And along the way, the rest of the crew get to experience life on Earth, Halloween and candy. Lots and lots of candy.

July 15, 2025 Occasional Randomness #40 - What About the Bothans? (Andor S2E10-12)
We finish our review of Star Wars: Andor with season 2 -- episodes 10 - 12. As we all guessed, this series ends right where the Rogue One movie starts. But before that, we tie up all the loose ends for the characters we've come to love over the last two seasons. We weren't really surprised at where they ended up for the most part. Although we do have some great ideas for future books or shows for some of them. K2-SO stole the show for one of us (Eric) while Kleya's "Mission: Impossible" hospital scenes was another's favorite (Jason). And we rank where Andor fits within our list of favorite Star Wars TV shows. Hint: it's way up there; we wish they could have kept this show going.
