The Saglemi Housing Project near Accra was not completely finished and it was overshadowed by accusations. When the new NPP-led administration took over, it started a corruption investigation into the project because the costs did not match the original plan to build 5000 housing units. In the end, only 1500 were built. Almost 5 years on, the investigation is still not done, the housing units are languishing and people are still not allowed to move in.
