For so many people with OCD and anxiety, periods aren’t just uncomfortable or inconvenient, they can feel genuinely terrifying. Hormonal shifts can intensify intrusive thoughts, anxiety, rumination, low mood, and that horrible sense of “losing control” of your mind. And when you don’t understand what’s happening, it’s easy to start fearing your own body on top of your own thoughts.
In this episode, I share my personal experience with period-related fear, how OCD can latch onto hormonal changes, and why this fear makes complete sense even though it feels so isolating.
