In episode 2 we talk with Derek Brez from Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Derek is pushing the boundaries of what Science education looks like in high schools, with some of the most reluctant learners.  When the learning involves authentic challenges of growing food "north of 60", and creating the tools that support a farm-to-cafeteria vision that feeds and nourishes the school community, one can hardly be surprised that the reluctant learner becomes an active citizen scientist engaged in the pursuit of what and how the earth provides, and sustains, all of us.
