Surf's up, beach lovers! The National Weather Service has the lowdown on our coastal conditions, and it's looking like an epic end-of-season weekend.

Saturday's shaping up to be a stunner with sunny skies and temperatures cruising into the mid-70s. Grab your surfboard, but keep your wits about you - we're looking at a moderate rip current risk. The waves will be dancing between 2 to 3 feet, perfect for intermediate riders but requiring some respect.

Water temperatures are hanging in the upper 60s, so you might want that thin wetsuit. West winds around 10 miles per hour will add some texture to the surf. Pro tip: check those tide charts. Virginia Beach is hitting low tide at 9:18 AM and peaking high at 3:44 PM.

Sunday brings a slight shift. The rip current risk drops to low, but the winds will kick up to 10 to 15 miles per hour from the southwest. Expect similar wave heights and those gorgeous sunny conditions continuing.

Columbus Day looks promising with surf heights potentially reaching 2 to 5 feet and west winds around 20 mph. But heads up - things cool down fast. By Tuesday, we're looking at chillier temperatures in the upper 50s with northwest winds.

This is officially the last beach forecast until mid-May 2025, so make these final autumn beach days count. Stay safe, watch those currents, and soak up the last rays of coastal magic!
