Surf's Up, Beach Lovers! This is your weekend wave report coming in hot from the Mid-Atlantic coastline.

Grab your sunscreen and board shorts because we're looking at a gorgeous beach weekend with plenty of sunshine and some playful waves. Saturday's bringing moderate rip current conditions across Virginia and Maryland beaches, so swimmers and surfers need to stay alert.

Ocean temperatures are hovering in the upper 60s, perfect for a quick dip or catching some rides. Expect surf heights around 2 to 3 feet with west winds dancing around 10 miles per hour. The UV index is moderate, so don't forget that sun protection.

Maryland and Virginia beaches will see temperatures climbing into the mid-70s, while the Outer Banks will nudge slightly higher into the upper 70s. Sunday looks similar but with southwest winds picking up a bit, especially in the afternoon.

Columbus Day promises continued sunny skies with surf heights potentially reaching 2 to 5 feet. But heads up - things cool down fast next week. By Tuesday, temperatures will drop dramatically into the upper 50s with northwest winds making things crisp.

Beach safety tip of the day: Those rip currents are no joke. Stay near lifeguard stations, watch for warning flags, and never swim alone. If you get caught in a current, swim parallel to the shore until you're out of it.

This is the final beach forecast for the season, so soak up every moment. We'll see you back here mid-May 2025 for more coastal adventures. Catch you on the waves!
