Listen Later

Hey beach lovers and wave chasers! This is your weekend surf forecast coming straight from the National Weather Service.

Get ready for a sunny sendoff to beach season with some sweet conditions along the Mid-Atlantic coastline. We're looking at moderate surf across Virginia and the Outer Banks, with waves dancing between 2 to 3 feet - perfect for catching some late-season swells.

Saturday's bringing west winds around 10 to 15 mph and temperatures cruising in the mid to upper 70s. Water temps are hanging in the upper 60s, so grab that wetsuit if you're planning to paddle out. The UV index is moderate, so sunscreen is your friend.

Heads up surfers and swimmers - we've got a moderate rip current risk in effect. Translation: those ocean currents are no joke. Stay alert, watch for breaking waves near jetties and piers, and maybe buddy up if you're hitting the water.

Sunday looks similar but with southwest winds picking up slightly. Rip current risk drops to low, but always stay vigilant. Tides will be rolling in during the afternoon - check your local tide charts for precise timing.

Columbus Day extends the beach party with 2 to 5 foot surf and highs in the lower 70s. Things cool down Tuesday and Wednesday with northwest winds and temps dropping to the upper 50s.

Pro tip: This is the final beach forecast until mid-May 2025, so soak up these last golden moments of coastal bliss. Stay safe, have fun, and catch those waves!

Surf's up, beach squad!
