The greatship Anemone sailed from New Bekton harbor ten days ago, powered by an experimental new engine and clad with plates of mage-hardened steel. Her destination was a nascent colony in the ash-blasted northern reaches of Korvun, across the acidic sea. The ship carried food, building materials, and new colonists – all desperately-needed resources for the fledgling settlement.

They never arrived.

Something went wrong out there on the acid waves, and now the Anemone is adrift, a dark and lifeless slave to the corrosive currents. What secrets she holds are lost to all – all, perhaps, except a small band of prisoners who are now awakening to inky blackness in the ship’s brig…
