Just as parents have expectations for children to lead to a safe, fulfilled,
and successful life, God did the same for his people. This isn’t surprising when we consider God’s
love for us. He always wants the best
for us and when you review these particular commandments you can see God was
wanting us to live fulfilled lives that honor Him as our guide, while treating
others with respect.
· Do you see love as the binding theme of the Ten Commandments? How so?
· Reread each of these commandments and think about what they mean to
you personally.
· The Ten Commandments serve as a code of conduct for today’s
Christians. Think about how today’s
society reacts to the Ten Commandments.
Do we consciously try to follow the commandments on a daily basis? Are there any that you struggle with as a
Christian?
· Pray today that you will see the Ten Commandments as a way to live your
life with relationships that matter the most, God and others. Pray that you
will yield to God’s will to those commandments you find difficult to follow.
