Hurricane Patricia made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph(over 240km/h) in Jalisco state of southwest Mexico on this day in weather history at 6:15 p.m. CDT. But then this monster underwent what is called an eye-wall replacement cycle. In the case of this storm, there was severe flooding in the mountainous terrain of southern Mexico and it went on to damage or destroy over 10,000 homes and about 100,000 acres of farmland.
