October 23rd - The worst distance between 2 people is misunderstanding

A lot of things can go wrong if you misunderstand someone. It makes for a great comedy but it's not fun in real life most of the time. It can cost you a lot of money or reputation if there is miscommunication. A NASA spaceship exploded in the air because one group did their measurements in inches while the other group did their measurements using the metric system. 

To prevent these types of miscommunications, we want to avoid using vague words and do check-in to make sure that things are going in the right direction. No one can read our minds and we can't read the minds of others, so we want to make sure we're not acting so. A miscommunication is an avoidable mistake but it requires us to be aware that a miscommunication can happen. If we are aware that it is a possibility, then we can ask the questions to make sure everything is clear.
